As Michael and I have recently returned to the "neighborhood", I was looking online to see if there was a schedule for the Elbert Douglas County Cattlewomen so I could meet up with Jody and rejoin. Instead, I stumbled upon this posting from Loves and was left staggering!
Phil, Michael and I send our deepest condolences. Our hearts break for you as we understand your close bond and union with Jody. What a unique and special person we knew Jody to be. Bless you and please let us know if we can be of service.

Phil, were so sorry for your loss as we are for are own. Ma was such an inspiration and so encouraging to get involved in 4-H. She made 4-H exciting to be a member of as well as someone to look up to for information and help. She is someone I thought would and wanted to live forever. We will remember her and miss her forever.

Sending you caring and loving thoughts as you grieve the loss of Jody. She was one in a million; you can be proud to call her sister, wife, mother, grandmother, Ma and friend. Sweet memories of her in our early years growing up, Julie. Especially trick or treat nights and overnights. She was always very kind and generous to me. Prayers for comfort as you adjust to life without her. My heart goes out to you all

I have no doubt that God will remember her and keep her memory safe. He will surely be glad to bring her back to life in a perfect world when suffering will be no more and we will all welcome back our loved ones that are asleep in death. (Revelation 21:4 & John 5:28, 29) May our loving Father bring your family the peace and comfort only He can provide.

Jody made a big difference in the lives of everyone she came in contact with. Her intellect led her head first into so many projects that would take anyone days to accomplish what she did in one. Jody will continue to be in our lives because she leaves her legacy throughout her beloved Elbert County and Colorado. Love and prayers to Jodys Phil, and family.

My condolences go out to your family. As you prepare to lay your loved one to rest, may you find comfort from your Bible at Psalms 34:18. " HE" is close to the brokenhearted and crushed in spirit." This verse has helped me when dealing with the loss of loves ones. You can find similar verses in the website www.jw.org

I visited with Jody each year on the Monday night changing of the guard at the National Stick Show. She worked days with Pikes Peak and I worked the evening shift. I always enjoyed seeing her, hearing her poetry, and reading her childrens books.
She was a special lady and will be dearly missed by many.

There are no words that can describe Jody, she was a lady that would help and lend a hand to anyone in need. The best memory for me was I need a horse for the Elbert Co Fair parade and she found one for me. Jody had got a hold of Phil and told him a visiting queen need to use her little mare. Jody didnt just let anyone ride her and it was an honor for me and the memory that I will keep always.

Jodi, I believe had a connection with everyone she met. I clicked with her the second I met her when I worked at Super Foods, many years ago. From that moment on, she reminded me of my mom, who passed away in 1995. Her most funniest sense of humor and outspoken ways, was exactly what I was raised with. Shoot they even look alike! I told Jodi this once, not to long ago and said she heard that from a LOT of people. I am so happy I got to meet and love Jodi. RIP
