Gordon Boetger of Brighton, CO passed away on February 13, 2009 in Brighton CO.
Gordon was born on August 15, 1927 in Hugo, CO to William Boetger and Orpha (Buhr) Boetger, the third of six children. Gordon graduated from Hugo High School in 1945.
Gordon married Letha Brockway on September 20, 1947 in Hugo, CO and to this union three children were born.
Gordon and Letha lived in Hugo on the family farm until 1979. They built a new home and moved to Twin Lakes, CO in1979 where they lived until 1985 when they moved to Aurora. In 1994, they moved to Brighton, CO where they remained for the rest of their lives.
Gordon was an avid hunter and fisherman, and played football, basketball and baseball during high school. He was a pitcher on the V.F.W. town baseball team for many years. . He loved the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos. Gordon never knew a stranger, having many old and new friends throughout his life.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, wife Letha, brothers Willard Boetger and Keith Boetger, and one son, Lloyd Michael Boetger.
Gordon is survived by one son Bill Boetger of Brighton, CO, and daughter, Charlene Bradley of Aurora, CO. He is survived by his three sisters, Willa Dean Allen of Hugo, CO, Jeannie (Leo) Weber of Royse City, TX, and Myrna Bernard of Aurora, CO. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Krista (Cory) Wraalstad of Aurora, CO, Bradley Dykes of Federal Heights, CO and Nicholas Bradley of Denver, CO and three great grandchildren; Sarah and Hunter Wraalstad and Blake Bradley, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A Memorial Service for Gordon will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Love Funeral Home Chapel in Limon, CO with Chaplin Kathleen Gorman officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Platte Valley Medical Center Foundation, 1600 Prairie Center Parkway, Brighton, CO 80601.
