Obituary of Arthur Hain

Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident Arthur Allan Hain passed away on April 28, 2009 at the Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington. He was 86 years old. Art was born on March 16, 1923 in Loup City, Nebraska to Jay and Bertha (Vance) Hain. He was one of six children. Art served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945. While serving in the military, he was awarded three medals, the World War II Victory Campaign Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After serving in the military, Art was employed for 35 years as a truck driver for CFI. In 35 years, Art had never missed a day of work. Art was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, and loved his Colorado Rockies. On November 20, 1983, Art married Nancy Carol Reeves in Henderson, Nevada. Art is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. He is survived by two sons, Art Hain and his wife Sharon, and Rick Hain all of Broomfield; one daughter Tammy Wittkop and her husband Jeff, also of Broomfield. He is also survived by five step children Mike Cox and wife Connie of Littleton, Linda LaBrie-Wood and husband Rob of Erie, Rick Hildebrandt and wife Marlene of Lubbock, Tx., Ron Hildebrandt and wife Janet of Parker, and Dennis Hildebrandt and wife Lori of Hutchinson, Ks. There are twenty-one grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Graveside Memorial Services for Art will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver. There will be no visitation as Art’s wish was to be cremated. Memorials may be made in Art’s name to the Grace Manor Care Center and may be sent to the Bank of Burlington, Burlington, Colorado.
