Obituary of Willabelle Turner

Willabelle Antonette Turner, age 84, of Simla, Colorado passed away on August 21, 2009 in Simla. Willabelle was born June 10, 1925 in Edina, Missouri to William C. and Hettie (Wing) Myers. She was one of eight children. Willabelle attended school in Missouri through the 10th grade. On January 15, 1954, Willabelle married Ralph Turner in Raton, New Mexico. To this union 5 children were born. Willabelle attended the First Baptist Church in Simla, CO and enjoyed fishing, quilting and crocheting. She was employed by the District 11 School System in Colorado Springs as a cook, and owned and operated the Hilltop Café and the O’Neal Cafe with Ralph over the years. The couple also owned Turner Service in Matheson, Colorado. Willabelle was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Wayne, Glenn, Louis and Ray; sisters Nelma, Mable and Beulah. She is survived by her husband Ralph of Simla, CO; sons Donald (Nancy) Turner of Colorado Springs, CO and Raymond (Leslee) Turner of Cheyenne, Wyoming; daughters Hattie Graham of Athens, Texas and Susan (Deon) Wolfe of Hayes, Kansas; as well as ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A Funeral Service for Willabelle will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Love Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Simla Cemetery in Simla, Colorado. Visitation will be held Monday, August 24, 2009 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Willabelle Turner Memorial Fund in care of the Farmers State Bank, PO Box 9 Calhan, CO 80808.
