Obituary of Bettie Ewing

View Video Tribute Bettie M Ewing, age 84, of Genoa, Colorado passed away August 22, 2009, at her home in Genoa. Bettie was born April 27, 1925 in Genoa to Anders R. and Elizabeth Maud (Owen) Andersen. She was one of five children. Bettie attended school in Genoa, graduating in 1943. She then attended the Colorado Women’s College in Denver, CO, majoring in dietetics. On September 12, 1945 married Glen Ewing. To this union two children were born, Wayne and Gloria. The family made their home in Genoa. Bettie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Genoa where she was a choir member, Sunday school teacher and Women’s Bible Study leader. Bettie enjoyed playing golf, coaching softball, crocheting and needlework. She was a 4-H leader and also enjoying baking wedding cakes. Bettie is preceded in death by her parents, brother Anders Eugene, sister Marjorie Dreier, infant siblings Edith and Robert, and grandson Matthew. She is survived by her husband Glen, son Wayne (Linda) Ewing of Genoa, CO, daughter Gloria (Arden) Exner of Aurora, CO, grandson Charlie Ewing of Aurora, CO, granddaughter Angela Montoya and her children Christopher and Brandon of Englewood, CO and grandson Luke (Renee) Ewing and their children Alyssah, Haley and Haden of Genoa, CO, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Bettie will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Genoa Methodist Church in Genoa at 10:30 AM with Reverends Frank and Linda Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Genoa Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 1 to 4 PM at the Love Funeral Home in Limon, CO. Memorial contributions are suggested to Lincoln County Hospice, the Genoa Fire Department, or Genoa Methodist Church.
