I was fortunate to coach track with Mitch. I was the Middle school coach and every year he would ask if I had any prospect coming up fro him " What do you need Mitch?".
"Do you have a sub 10 100 meter person?" "
No Mitch not this year."
I hope he has found one to run for him.

My first memories with Coach Mitchell were in Junior High P.E. That year a spring blizzard left left snow drift covering a corner of the track several feet deep. Coach was not going to let that stand in the way of the big High School meet. For several days the P.E. class consisted of "weight training" with shovels and wheel barrels until the snow was removed. The track meet went on as planned. I'm sure he's already got a track meet organized in heaven. RIP

Mitch! You coached my father and also myself. My senior year (2002) at the pole vault pit you told us about some one from Eads, and that you thought you coached his dad. When you came back over, after the curse words you told us that you coached his granddad! Thanks for all the great memories! Thank you for the privilege for me to coach along with a legend! Prayers to your family! My kids will always hear stories about you!

Lori, Carol, Tom, John, and Bill - I was saddened to hear about the passing of your Dad.
I had the pleasure of visiting with him just a few weeks ago. It was great to see him. We talked about each of you, his rich history as a coach, your Mother and golf. It was truly great to see him. Your father had an incredible gift -- and like so many others, I was lucky enough to have had him as a coach, but my fondest memories are those shared growing up and hanging out in your home.
I smile in those memories, but am saddened by your loss. My deepest sympathies to each of you - Todd Taylor
