Obituary of Bill Allison
Bill Ray Allison of Deer Trail, died December 3, 2005 at the Aurora South Hospital in Aurora, CO. He was 81. Bill was born November 30, 1924 at home in Matheson, CO to Edward and Lydia (Trost) Allison where he was raised and attended school until the eighth grade.
Bill accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 15 at the Evangelical Church in Matheson, CO. He loved serving the Lord whenever and however he could. Bill and Ilene raised their children in a spiritual environment.
At the age of 15 Bill did carpenter work with his Dad. He met his sweetheart Ilene Hamacher and courted her for two years and they were married in June 11, 1944 in Matheson, CO and have been married for 61 wonderful years. Bill farmed and carpentered south of Matheson for two years and then moved to Deer Trail. Bill built a Sinclair Station for his father-in-law Ted Hamacher. Then Bill and Ilene built a locker plant in Deer Trail. Bill went back to carpentry work building houses he retired from carpentry work in 1980 and worked with his wife in locker plant until they sold it in 1984.
Bill loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed the great outdoors every chance he could and thought the Colorado mountains were âGodâs Country.â?
Bill was involved in many community and church offices over the years including the Senior Building Committee, treasurer and trustee of the Deer Trail Baptist Church, elder of the Agate Community Church, trustee on the Deer Trail town board and was a member of the Evergreen Cemetery Board.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Lydia Allison, siblings; Erskin, Dean, Roy, John Allison, Delma Hammel, Margaret Owens, Alta Allison and Lila Mae Altridge, one son Billy Ray Allison, great-grandchildren; Brittney Ray Lippitt, Donnie Lippett and Delon Manuello.
Bill is survived by wife, Ilene of Deer Trail, sister; JoAnn and husband Alfred Geick of Matheson, son Melvin Allison and wife Leona of Deer Trail, and daughters; Donna Butler and husband Ed of Agate, Judy Garnhart and husband Bob of Greeley, Patsy Jury and husband Richard of Strasburg, and Barbara Stanko and husband Eddie of Matheson, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and loving friends. Visitation was held Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at the Love Funeral Home from 1 to 4 p.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Deer Trail Public School with burial immediately following at the Evergreen Cemetery in Deer Trail, CO.
